We Will Rebuild

One fall morning in 2019, I awoke early to seek the Lord. As I was reading my Bible, I heard “We are proud, we will rebuild” multiple times. It was the same voice I heard speak the words “209” before and it resonated through my ears. It really defined what the word “wonder” means in the phrase “signs and wonders”. Numerous thoughts flooded my mind as I continued to seek the Lord about these words.

The following Sunday, we attended church. I had mentioned the words the Lord had given me to a lady from church. Nancy met me at the doors of the church with the book “The Harbinger” by Jonathan Cahn. As I read this book, my spirit quickened while reading it. The Lord wanted me to see the reason for the judgement coming to the leading nation of the free world.

The United States has long been a symbol of freedom and an anchor of Christianity in the world. Our nation is responsible (estimated) for providing the wealth and people for 90% of the Christian missions in the world. Despite arguments otherwise, God’s judgments still occur. When the influence of other gods overwhelm the influence of Yahweh, things begin to shift. Creation begins to groan and uncontrollable events start to occur meant to incur change.

The basis for God’s judgments are a violation of a covenant with Him. The United States has been given riches and military dominance unlike any other nation in history. After World War II, the nation’s faith in God was strong. The US military had been used as “the Lord’s Army” to vanquish the evil forces in the Pacific and Europe. The building of the greatest economic and military force in history began. The Lord poured out unprecedented favor towards this nation founded on God.

Starting in 1970, New York legalized abortions. In 1973, Roe vs. Wade led to abortion’s legalization nation wide. In ancient Israel, the prophets were sent to warn the people when they began sacrificing children to other gods. One of those confrontations can be found in Jeremiah chapter 19 when he confronts the priests that are sacrificing children to Baal. Jeremiah warns them vehemently against their actions and what the consequences will be. This spirit had come to America’s government allowing for the sacrifice of children. Approximately 62 million abortions have occurred in the US since 1973.

The Lord uses natural disasters and foreign armies to bring judgements to nations. The attacks on 9/11/01 were brought to America via foreign terrorists. Our physical safety was seemingly brought into peril. Intelligence failures and complacency led to a single day mass casualty event. There had not been a significant physical attack on our nation since Pearl Harbor. The churches filled up and our nation came together like no other time since World War 2. President Bush experienced an approval rating at or near 90% during the initial period afterwards.

Jonathan Cahn presents the case in “The Harbinger” that the 9/11 attack was a warning to our nation of judgments to come. US Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle quoted Isaiah 9:10 the following day which created the “theme” of the coming days…..

“The bricks have fallen down,
    but we will rebuild with dressed stone;
the fig trees have been felled,
but we will replace them with cedars.”

Though seemingly inspirational, these words were from a defiant nation. The words of Isaiah 9:10 were the same words of resistance from the Israelites stating they would build back what the Lord had destroyed in His warning to them. They would build it back stronger in an effort to thwart future destruction of their nation.

The parallels of the heart of a nation emulate those of our own being. When the inner man isn’t healthy, it creates an unhealthy atmosphere around the man. The unhealthy inner man will seek to destroy and blame others around them, in lieu of seeking God’s guidance in what can be done to heal.

Seemingly by God’s guidance and knowing of the conditions of the heart of the nation, stating this verse released a prophetic word upon the land. It became the theme. Politician after politician pronounced “We will rebuild.” The United States went after Bin Laden and invaded the country of Afghanistan almost immediately. A short time later, the invasion of Iraq commenced.

This first warning incurred a sense of insecurity for our physical safety in the nation. The nation struck out against other nations. The second warning occurred 7 years later on September 29, 2008 when the Dow Jones crashed 777 points. This was the first day of Rosh Hashana that year. The economic collapse was somewhat averted by the stimulus bills. A defiant nation refused to look within and seek God. Again, the bricks were replaced by hewn stone.

20 years later after the 9/11 attacks, the US nation has suffered a humiliating withdrawal from Afghanistan and the Iraq operation has largely been dismissed as being based on false premises. Diplomacy with other nations, once thought unshakable, seem to be in peril. The freight crisis and lack of workforce availability is squeezing the life out of the economy. These consequences are riding the back of the COVID-19 pandemic which has fueled further political and religious divide in our nation from masks and vaccinations.

The parallels of the heart of a nation’s leadership emulate those of our own being. When the inner man isn’t healthy, it creates an unhealthy atmosphere around the man. The unhealthy inner man will seek to destroy and blame others around them, in lieu of seeking God’s guidance for what can be done to heal.

After the sudden death of Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the first day of Rosh Hashanah, the court now has a Pro-life majority with the appointment of Amy Comey Barrett. Her death signifies the end of the Supreme Court majority that would keep an overturning of Roe Vs. Wade to occur.

The message here is clear. The Lord is seeking repentance from our nation’s leadership for the aborting of innocent life. God has arranged the circumstances for this to come to pass.

Dobbs vs Jackson Women’s Health Organization will now be considered in the Supreme Court on December 1, 2021. The decision is expected to take several months to decide.

Pray for our nation’s Supreme Court. Pray for the attorneys who are going to defend innocent life. Pray for humility, boldness, and wisdom for the entire body of Christ to recognize what season we are in.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

I will be writing in future articles about who, how, why, and when the Lord judges nations…
